A beginner level exercise to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, inner thighs, Transverse Abdominis (navel to spine) and Multifidus (a lower back stabilising muscle) and to practise the breathing technique.
Exercise Visualisation:
Imagine your ribcage as an Accordion as you breathe in and out of the ribcage. Visualise buttoning your navel to your spine as you engage the core.
Exercise Watch Points:
Try to keep the inner thighs & pelvic floor engaged as you inhale and exhale. You may or may not feel the lower back release on the last breath. Keep practising this foundation exercise. Head, neck, shoulders AND pelvis should not move.
